Privacy
Attrace is a speculative product design, not a live regulated service. This page explains the limited personal data the concept site handles and how, so that visitors have a clear notice under the UK GDPR and PECR.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for this site is Jon Horvath, an independent product designer based in London, United Kingdom. You can reach the operator about any privacy matter at contact@jonhorvath.co.uk. Data is handled in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What we collect
This is a marketing concept site with no accounts and no live product behind it. The only data processing is:
- Usage analytics (optional) — if you accept the analytics banner, PostHog captures page views, feature interactions and session recordings, and stores identifiers on your device.
- Technical logs — our host records standard request data (IP address, user-agent, path) to serve and secure the site.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for usage analytics and session recording. Because it stores identifiers on your device and records interactions, it is non-essential, so it does not load until you accept it in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, it never runs. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser, which brings the banner back. We use no advertising cookies and no marketing pixels, and we do not sell your data.
4. Legal bases
We rely on your consent for analytics and session recording, and on our legitimate interest in a secure, working site for the standard technical logs kept by our host.
5. Sub-processors
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Web hosting; standard request logs (IP, user-agent, path) | United States (UK IDTA / SCCs) |
| PostHog Inc. | Product analytics and session recording — loads only if you accept the analytics banner | EU cloud (eu.i.posthog.com); PostHog Inc., United States (UK IDTA / SCCs) |
6. How long we keep data
Analytics data is retained by PostHog per its standard retention. Host request logs are short-lived and kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the site.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email contact@jonhorvath.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
